How the 8-day version differs from the 6-day one
The 8-day version is the same loop at a calmer pace: 2,300 km and about 185 litres of fuel according to the programme, with a night in Namibrand at a guest farm near Duwisib Castle and a night in a lodge by the Erongo mountains. Day-by-day programme
Day 1: Arrival. Windhoek
Transfer to the hotel, rest, a walk around the city.
Day 2: Trans-Kalahari
Pick up the car, drive to Quiver Tree Forest, explore the forest. At 4pm, cheetah feeding (if available).
Meals: Breakfast, dinnerDay 3: NamibRand
An unhurried drive to a desert lodge through scenic passes. Check in at a guest farm near Duwisib Castle, lunch en route. Optional: a sunset drive, a castle visit, rhino tracking (seasonal).

Drive into the national park, Deadvlei and the dune sea, check in at the lodge, rest after the desert. Optional: an evening walk or drive.

Sesriem Canyon or Dune 45 (if not done earlier), then drive to the Atlantic. A walk around Swakopmund, a crystal museum.

A Sandwich Harbour jeep tour, salt pans with flamingos, an oyster lunch. Optional: kayaking, a catamaran, a Little Five safari, sandboarding, quad bikes, paragliding.

Drive north along the coast, the Zeila shipwreck, the Spitzkoppe massif, bushman rock art. Check in at a lodge with Erongo mountain views.

Optional: a bushman rock art excursion. Drive to Windhoek, return the car by 5pm. Early transfer to the airport at 4:45am, flight at 7:00am.
