On 1 April 2026 Namibia raised national park entry fees for international visitors. Here is the overview by category: what an adult and a child pay, and what to include in a route budget.
Main parks
For the parks treated as premium (Etosha, Namib-Naukluft including Sossusvlei, Waterberg), the fee per person per day is:
| Category | Entrance | Conservation fee | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| International adult | N$140 | N$140 | N$280 |
| SADC adult | N$90 | N$90 | N$180 |
| Namibian citizen | N$30 | N$30 | N$60 |
| International child 9–16 | N$70 | N$70 | N$140 |
| SADC child 9–16 | N$45 | N$45 | N$90 |
| Children under 8 | free | 0 |
Other vehicle categories, per day: 11–25 seats N$150, 26–50 seats N$600, 51 seats or more N$1000.
Child age bands are quoted differently across sources (8–16 or 9–16). The exact category is confirmed by the park staff at the gate.
Other parks
Parks in the Zambezi and Kavango East regions, plus Daan Viljoen, Hardap and Naute, rose to N$200 per day for an international adult from April 2026. Children under 16 pay N$150.
What is paid separately
- Vehicle. A separate daily fee applies to a private car: N$60 per day for a vehicle with up to 10 seats.
- Accommodation. NWR camps, campsites and lodges are paid separately.
- Night drives and activities with rangers.
Budgeting
The ticket is valid for 24 hours from entry and is non-refundable. For a 9–10 day route with Etosha and Sossusvlei, plan one daily ticket per person for each day inside a park. For a couple that is N$560 per day, plus the vehicle fee.
Private reserves and lodges charge their own rates.
Where to check current tariffs
Fees are published by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) and NWR. We state the amount at the time we build your route and confirm it before departure.
